Story
Growing up in a family of doctors, the value of service and the impact of improving lives was instilled in me before I could even read. I initially aspired to pursue medicine, inspired by witnessing the tangible difference in patient care firsthand.
I was born and raised in Albania during a period of significant economic and political transition. My upbringing emphasized education, discipline, and self-reliance, values that shaped my entrepreneurial outlook. Following Albania’s transition to a market economy in 1991 after 50 years of dark communism, I became deeply interested in the emergence of private enterprise and the opportunities it created. I launched my first business at age seven. By ten, I had taught myself to code and came to a defining realization. While a doctor can impact a handful of patients at a time, a single line of code has the potential to reach millions. That insight sparked an obsession with large-scale impact that still drives me today.
At fifteen, a serious medical diagnosis altered the trajectory of my life and ultimately brought me to the United States in 2001, a pivotal moment that opened the doors to new opportunities.
During my recovery, I learned English and began preparing for college. While initially planning a career in medicine, I worked multiple jobs and launched several ventures to support my education. During college, I founded my first U.S.-based technology company and ultimately made the decision to leave school to pursue it full-time, an experience that laid the foundation for founding Hyperplane years later.
Hyperplane represents the culmination of that journey. I believe venture capital is the best platform in the world to drive impact at scale, and I feel fortunate to partner alongside founders who are changing the world. For me, this work is a life-long commitment to entrepreneurs, often those overcoming significant challenges, to execute on their vision from their first venture to their last.
